Addressing SARS-CoV-2 Variants: Sani Professional® Disinfectants for EPA List N and SARS-CoV-2 Claim

Sani Professional continues to monitor the COVID-19 pandemic to help manage this outbreak. This includes recent information regarding the Delta variant of SARS-CoV-2, the virus responsible for COVID-19.

The Delta variant, one of several variants in circulation throughout the world, was first identified in India and appears to be a more transmissible form of the novel coronavirus that has spread to at least 77 countries and regions. It currently makes up more than 80 percent of all U.S. cases. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has identified it as a “variant of concern.” Experts indicate that the Delta variant could lead to new COVID surges in parts of the country, as well as globally, where proportions of the population remain unvaccinated.

What does this mean for our customers? The “EPA expects all products on List N to kill all strains of SARS-CoV-2. Genetic changes to the virus do not impact the efficacy of disinfectants. List N disinfectants work by chemically inactivating viruses. The difficulty of killing a virus depends on its physical features, and the recent mutations to SARS-CoV-2 have not changed the basic physical properties.”

Sani Professional has you covered with products that are on List N and kill SARS-CoV-2.

The following Sani Professional products have EPA approval for the SARS-CoV-2 claim:

  • Sani Professional® Disinfecting Multi-Surface Wipes (EPA #9480-5)
  • Sani Professional® No-Rinse Sanitizing Wipes (EPA Reg #9480-13)
